NGOs – the Death of Democracy

The proliferation and power of NGOs (non-governmental organizations) in recent years has become a threat to democracy in the USA and around the world.

Approximately 1.5 million NGOs operate in the United States. These NGOs undertake a wide array of activities, including political advocacy on issues such as foreign policy, elections, the environment, healthcare, women’s rights, economic development, and many other issues . . . Their sources of finance include donations from private individuals (American or foreign), private sector for-profit companies, philanthropic foundations, or grants from federal, state, or local government. Sources of finance may also include foreign governments. There is no prohibition in U.S. law on foreign funding of NGOs; whether that foreign funding comes from governments or non-government sources.

US Dept. of State – NGOs in the United States

Primarily a tool of the political left, the NGO has become the preferred method to funnel enormous amounts of money and power to those who implement their often-clandestine liberal policies.

For example, in the 2020 presidential election, the Democrat party mobilized an army of workers in blue cities all over the country to harvest ballots, work the polls as ballot counters, and perform whatever other work, legal or not, required to win. Most of these shock troops were hired and managed by NGOs using leftover Covid funds and other federal grants.

The most compelling evidence to date has emerged in “2000 Mules,” the upcoming documentary by conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, who draws on research by election integrity group True The Vote to expose suspicious ballot harvesting. Using cellphone geotracking and surveillance video, it shows a network of “mules” in battleground states busily collecting ballots from get-out-the-vote NGOs and stuffing them, a few at a time, into multiple drop boxes in the dead of night.

NY Post – April 24, 2022

Meanwhile, at the southern border, millions upon millions of illegal immigrants cross into the USA aided and abetted by Democrat-operated NGOs. These immigrants are given first-class tourist treatment on the way to destinations all over the country where they are set up with taxpayer-funded housing, food, medical care, education, and often voting privileges. Texas is investigating the Biden administration’s unholy alliance with NGOs and its role in the border crisis.

Since none of this is legal and is strongly opposed by taxpaying Americans, it must be done in secrecy. NGOs are the perfect vehicle for corruption – they can be created and discarded quickly, leave no traces, have unlimited access to non-taxable grant funds and private contributions from zillionaires, and are accountable to no-one.

What’s worse is that Democrat legislators can grant taxpayer funds to NGOs with the full expectation that large sums of money will be returned to them as campaign contributions. Planned Parenthood rakes in about a half billion dollars from the government per year and gives at least 10% back to Democrat members of Congress, plus large contributions from well-paid Planned Parenthood executives. Is it any wonder this despicable organization gets funded year after year?

These unelected, unaccountable, shadow organizations are at the root of much of the corruption we decry in our government these days. Increasingly they are used by foreign governments as political weapons and agents of covert invasion all over the world.

It’s time for our new Congress to take a hard look at NGOs and their dirty deeds.

Leader of the Pack

While the mid-term election was no fun for real conservatives, it sure put a spring in the step of media pundits, Democrats, Never-Trumpers, and Senate and House leaders Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy.

Before the week was over, every political junkie was obsessing over (a) who is at fault for the “red fizzle” and (b) who would be the new House (majority) and Senate (minority) leaders.

The folks in my opening paragraph quickly blamed former president Donald Trump, whose alleged failures included endorsing weak GOP candidates who ultimately lost (his actual record was 216 wins to 19 losses), not spending his entire super PAC on candidates (he spent $16 million out of his estimated $100 million war chest), and taking a verbal shot at his presumed 2024 presidential opponent, Ron DeSantis, just before election day.

Conservatives, meanwhile, faulted GOP leadership. The Big Macs (McCarthy, McConnell and Ronna Romney McDaniel, RNC chairwoman) made their share of unforced errors, funding such stellar conservatives as Lisa Murkowski, while snubbing Trump favorites Masters, Oz and Bolduc. And some say the party’s policy messaging was not strong enough to win on-the-fence voters.

Despite a challenge from Florida senator Rick Scott, McConnell was elected Senate minority leader, on a 37 to 10 vote thanks to Murkowski and other members of the Quid Pro Quo Caucus. McCarthy, on the other hand, appears to be on the way out. Russ Vought, president of Citizens for Renewing America and Trump’s OMB director, told followers tonight that no fewer than 37 Republicans are firmly against McCarthy and that Andy Biggs will likely be the new speaker. Lee Zeldin, who narrowly missed in the New York governor’s race, is vying to replace McDaniel for the chair of the RNC.

In the bigger scheme, neither Trump nor the Big Macs were responsible for the “red fizzle”. The Democrats in battleground states have expanded their cheating playbook to include “malfunctioning” (thus unavailable) voting equipment and late, late, late ballot counts, resulting in some upsets that were beyond absurdity. In fact, the Democrats have become so skilled at election cheating that some Republicans fear they will never win another election unless they learn to cheat even better.

Now I have good news and I have bad news.

First the bad news. Most Americans have no clue who the leaders of the House and Senate are. They are not aware that hundreds of political prisoners have been held by our Democrat administration for two years in putrid conditions without due process. They don’t know that our economy is a $40 trillion house of cards. They are blissfully unaware that our president is fatally compromised to the Chinese, the Russians, the Ukrainians, and whoever else his corrupt family has sold influence and US assets to. They know nothing because our media/government/education cabal keeps the truth hidden from them.

Now the potentially good news. We may have the most conservative group of congressmen and women ever. And we have the opportunity to put new congressional leaders in place who are principled and driven, and who understand the urgent danger our nation is in. They may not be able to pass laws through our feckless Senate or our administration. But they can expose the fraud and corruption with investigations and hearings. They can defund or destroy the corrupt three-letter agencies that have been weaponized against the American people. They can shut down the government if they have to. And they have the power to wake up America’s sleeping voters to the shame that we have become, perhaps in time to save us from the fate of Cuba and Venezuela.

Of course, all of this was possible at times in the past when we had a congressional majority. But without a courageous and moral leader of the pack, our lawmakers have been stymied.

I hope we get it right; this may be our last chance.

9% Inflation, my ASS!

Today we had a glass installer come out to spec and estimate a glass shower door for our new home.

When we asked about the cost, he said, “Who knows? Yesterday I got a call from my glass supplier, and he said next week my cost would be increased by 30%. And this is after a price increase in June. Plus, the 10% fuel surcharge for delivery of his product has doubled.”

This is typical of the quotes I have been getting for all kinds of building materials and labor. Everything is up 50% to 100%.

Last week we were grocery shopping at Costco. On our shopping list was large pork loins – last month the cost was $1.99/lb, and my wife thinks they have been at that price level for a long time. She was stunned to see the new price: $3.99 per pound. Isn’t that about a 100% increase? We didn’t buy them.

Here’s a math lesson, used by accountants and fifth graders worldwide. Percent increase is calculated as follows: new cost – original cost = amount of increase ÷ original cost = percent increase

$3.99 – $1.99 = $2.00 ÷ $1.99 = 100%

The good news is we still got a hot dog and Coke at Costco for $1.50. That price has been the same since 1985. The founder of Costco once told the current CEO, Craig Jelinek, “If you raise the [price of the] effing hot dog, I will kill you!” He clearly knows where Costco’s buns are buttered.

As of this writing, BidenGas averages $4.52 per gallon. A year ago it was $3.25.

$4.52 – $3.25 = $1.27 ÷ $3.25 = 39% in 12 months

And the inflation is much worse compared to TrumpGas, the average price when Biden took office in January of 2020 ($2.60).

$4.52 – $2.60 = $1.92 ÷ $2.60 = 74% in 18 months

So tell me, in your neighborhood, is there anything that doesn’t cost at least 50% more than it did a year ago? Where does this 9% figure come from? Can we trust anything the federal government tells us these days?

Exactly one year ago, President Biden said, “You’re not going to get COVID if you get these vaccinations.” Guess who got COVID last week? Liar.

Alejandro Mayorkas, Biden’s secretary of homeland security, said, “Look, the border is secure.” As the Border Patrol points out 207,000 “migrant encounters” in June alone. Not to mention all of the illegals who did not turn themselves in to authorities to get their EBT cards, cell phones, and plane tickets to their US destination of choice. Secure? Liar.

The really sad thing is this inflation is intentional. Don’t tell me that the Biden administration and the World Economic Forum fatcats don’t know that huge government spending and debt from fiat currency causes inflation – any kid out of ECON 101 knows that.

I’m sorry, when the Biden administration and the liberal news media (sorry, redundant) tell me that inflation is 9%, I’m just not buying it. I know when I am being “zoomed”.

Time to “Move On” From Election Theft Talk? Oh, HELL NO!

Too many Republicans have said it’s time to move on from outrage about the theft of the presidential election in November of 2020. The pushback started almost immediately after the election and accelerated after thousands of concerned citizens gathered in Washington, DC on January 6, 2021 to peacefully protest what were, at best, very suspicious and unprecedented circumstances and events surrounding the defeat of President Trump by a weak contender who did not even campaign.

The news media and social media, who no longer have any interest in investigative reporting and truth-telling, suppressed all attempts to prove the theft, calling every accusation “debunked” without even looking at any evidence presented. The DOJ and FBI, who in the past were quick to investigate allegations of official wrongdoing, (i.e. Watergate, Iran-Contra, etc.) were not only derelict, they were complicit in the coverup.

A year and a half later, enter conservative documentary film-maker Dinesh D’Souza, in association with the long-time leader in election security, True the Vote. Their movie, 2000 Mules, shows how cell-phone GPS records and security videos prove beyond any doubt that the Democrats hired thousands of “mules” to stuff ballot boxes with millions of illegal and trafficked votes in order to strategically throw an election they knew they had no chance of winning. It also proves that the volume of illegal activity was way more than enough to hand Trump’s electoral win to Biden. If you have not seen this movie, you must. Follow the link to find out how to obtain it.

A “mule” stuffs illegal ballots in a drop box, then removes her rubber gloves and throws them in the garbage can to avoid leaving fingerprints. Some of these criminals visited dozens of drop boxes per night over long advance voting periods, also making repeated trips to Democrat NGO offices for payment and to pick up more ballots. Many were seen taking selfies of themselves dropping the ballots, a requirement for payment.
Clip from “2000 Mules”.

Only weeks later, frantic Democrat leaders, with a couple of “never-Trump” Republican stooges propped in front of the cameras, staged a televised kangaroo court hearing to try to convince America that the January 6 protest was a coup attempt by outgoing President Trump. Other RINOs are nodding their approval.

Asa Hutchinson, lame duck governor of Arkansas, has admitted he wants to run for president. He called the Jan. 6 protest “a costly error” and chided conservatives (including most Republican voters) for continuing to press the issue.

I know, you know, and everybody knows the election was stolen. I don’t need to repeat the proof here. Those who hate and fear President Trump (he is still our elected president) will just say “debunked, debunked, debunked” no matter how irrefutable the evidence is.

What we can’t allow to happen is for this crime of the century – hell, biggest crime in history! – to stand. If the ruthless, criminal forces who pulled this off get away with it and there are no consequences, who on earth thinks they won’t do it again, and again, and steal every election until there are no more elections in the USA?

So no, I will NOT stop complaining about the election theft. And I will not vote for any candidate at any level who even hints at a willingness to tolerate it. My hair will remain on fire until Democrats and their operatives are indicted, and the stench is worst at the top of the dung heap we call our government.

We have to understand just how quickly our republic can be taken from us. The extent to which our law enforcement, military, education, news and social media, medical system, border security, foreign policy, banking and other institutions are already damaged is dire beyond the comprehension of most Americans. Many innocent citizens who protested on Jan. 6 are still political prisoners in DC, held in inhumane conditions without haircuts, medical care, legal representation or due process. My God, what has happened to us?

Frankly, if there isn’t accountability for the election theft and other crimes, and a will to prevent it from ever happening again, it’s lights out for America as we know it.

The Digital Dollar – Follow the Money

It was only a matter of time.

The late, great Rush Limbaugh taught us that whenever there is something really strange going on, especially with our government, just seal out the distractions and follow the money.

I became alarmed a month ago when our Federal Reserve Bank announced that they have developed technology that would enable them to convert our currency to a “digital dollar”. Cash and private banking could soon be a thing of the past.

My observations:

  • The big banks have been cozying up to the Feds for a long time now, squeezing out smaller and local banks. Only the biggest banks can afford to comply with the onerous federal regulations. Following the money, I’m guessing there is a piece of the government pie already cut for them in this digital dollar objective. The banks clearly have no problem sharing our privacy and our funds with the feds, who are now pushing to restrict unreported cash withdrawals to $600 or less.
  • The loss of small banks who can make loans and meet local transactional needs is crushing small business in our country. This dovetails with the woke left’s desire to hollow out the middle class. Follow the money.
  • Once our funds are under the control of the federal government, how long will it be before they establish “equity scores” with which to value our accounts? (Hmm, working white guy, your dollar is worth 35 cents. Unemployed minority migrant, your dollar is worth $2.75, automatically deposited to your account by the government.)
  • The next step would be controlling our behavior by withdrawing or withholding digital dollars from our accounts based on “social score” or inappropriate activity. This is happening already in China and Canada. (You went to a Trump rally? You contributed to the trucker protest? You posted “Let’s Go Brandon” on your Facebook page? Sorry, your funds are frozen! Your company sells pillows and contributes to voter integrity projects? Sorry, you can’t have bank accounts!)
  • With the national debt at $33 trillion and interest rates rising, we are about to become Argentina if taxes aren’t increased. But you won’t have to worry about writing a check to the IRS – they will just lift it from your digital dollar account.

I wonder if commercial banking is going to be completely eliminated and/or merged into the Fed. Banks continue to shed jobs. Try calling your bank on the phone: “Your call is very important to us, your wait time is approximately 42 minutes . . .” And now the woke big banks are firing half of their employees because they refuse to get vaccinated with a chemical that has been proven to not work again the China virus, and (according to the CDC) has killed as many as 200,000. Following the money, maybe the big banks are working toward a merger with the Federal Reserve?

The USA became the economic engine of the world based on freedom, including the right to earn, keep, and spend our own money. But we, and the rest of the world, are now facing the “Great Reset”, which is predicated on sharing the wealth based on skin color and equity. (Follow that link to the World Economic Forum if you really want to get scared.) India, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE are lined up to go digital as well. The EU is looking at perhaps next year.

So how can we protect our assets? Gold? Cryptocurrency? Real estate? Any of these can be confiscated or controlled by over-reaching federal government. Prayer might be the only answer.

I’m afraid it will take a huge and sudden resistance (hopefully non-violent) by the masses to this aggressive radical transformation of our nation and world. The masses will have to be made aware and educated first, and there is precious little time left. The woke leftists must be defeated at every level at every opportunity, no matter how seemingly insignificant.

When you follow the money, nothing is insignificant.

Somebody’s Watching Me – Rockwell

Welcome to the U.S.S.A.

At the height of the cold war with the USSR in the 1960s the KGB was feared by the free world. The sinister intelligence and enforcement arm of the Kremlin ruthlessly found, tortured and murdered anyone who didn’t agree with Soviet leadership.

Far away from the Soviet tundra, America was still riding a post-war wave of patriotism and bravado. We laughed at cartoon KGB goofs Boris and Natasha, the hapless Sergeant Schultz of the “Hogan’s Heroes” WWII prison camp sitcom, and the ruthless but doomed Soviet tyrants in James Bond movies as a release from the horrific thought that a government would weaponize a clandestine security agency against its own people.

But wait a minute, isn’t that what our own FBI is doing today? Yesterday’s news dump featured the Durham probe of the deep state attack on President Trump (and thus on all Trump supporters and voters), which has now proved beyond any doubt that Hillary Clinton’s campaign hired a tech company to hack Trump’s computer systems before AND after the 2016 presidential election to try to dig up dirt and plant the seeds of the now debunked “Russia, Russia, Russia” hoax. Like Boris and Natasha, our own FBI was fumbling around right in the middle of it: Clinton attorney Michael Sussman brought the fake “evidence” he mined from the illegal wiretaps of servers at Trump Towers and the White House to the FBI trying to implicate the president in some nefarious relationship with a Russian bank. Rather than investigate and take down Sussman, as was their duty, the FBI just shrugged the whole thing off, probably to hide their own involvement.

Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith was sentenced to a year of probation for altering an email that resulted in improper FISA approvals of surveillance measures against Trump.

FBI officials Strzok, Page, McCabe and Comey shamelessly plotted ways to damage the president who was at the top of their organizational chart.

The FBI has reached a new low on the American respect-meter, with 46% of Americans expressing distrust of the agency after the FBI was implicated in promoting the Jan. 6, 2021 “insurrection”. A year later 71 political prisoners were still in jail in DC in inhumane conditions.

The FBI was caught red-handed setting up a fake kidnapping of Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Six years ago the nation was aghast when President Obama’s FBI agents murdered innocent Idaho rancher Lavoy Finicum. This pales in comparison to the 75 deaths in Waco in 1993 when President Clinton’s FBI needlessly burned down a religious compound full of men, women, and children.

Americans are coming to grips with the fact that our own intelligence and law enforcement agencies are no longer on the side of the citizens. The FBI and other three-letter agencies (CIA, DOJ, IRS, BLM, ATF) are now weaponized by leftist administrations to find, investigate, harass and punish citizens who disagree with the party in power.

In the 1960s we also were amused that the USSR had no free press, and the newspapers and televisions only reported what the government told them to. Would we have imagined that sixty years later American kids would have to wear masks at school all day? Or that companies would fire employees who refused to be injected with dangerous, unproven and ineffective vaccines? Or that our elections would be run like those of the Soviet Politburo?

Who would have thought that our government in 2022 would be modeled after the 1960s USSR?

Nikita Khruschev must be laughing and banging his shoe on a table in hell.

INCOMPETENCE!

Does this sound like anybody you know? Hmm . . . maybe our federal government? Maybe the Biden administration? Maybe the Democrat Party under Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer? The crazy team on the Marxist crazy train?

Does the term “incompetence” bring to mind minority leader Kevin McCarthy or Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell, neither of whom has ever initiated or demanded a regular-order federal budget, instead playing the “continuing resolution” game year after year?

Is it just me, or is the incompetence of our elected officials becoming absolutely mind-boggling?

Anyone who has owned a business, or has been a manager at any level, or for that matter, has been a line-level employee who gives a damn, completely understands the term incompetence. It just can’t be avoided. It slaps you in the face when you see it. Incompetence is so intolerable, and smells so bad, that families go to war over it. Workers quit their jobs over it. Customers flee from suppliers over it.

Have you had a boss who is or was incompetent? Did it piss you off so badly you couldn’t even see straight?

Just for fun, let’s look at some specific recent examples of the incompetence of our national leaders:

  • Our nation needs a low-cost, reliable energy supply and just one year ago enjoyed economic success and foreign policy prowess as the world’s leading producer of energy
    • until the Biden administration cut off pipelines and drilling, while pressing for scientifically indefensible green policies, and advocating for competing nations’ carbon-based energy development, even begging OPEC to increase oil production to hold down the inevitably skyrocketing gas prices
  • Americans endure endless business, education and home life shutdowns, mask mandates and vaccine requirements due to questionable government and media COVID-19 “science”
    • while our federal government overturns all existing border controls and encourages tens of thousands of illegal migrants to walk into our states without any vetting or medical clearance, and while hundreds of thousands of American COVID patients die without being allowed access to proven, inexpensive therapeutic drugs
  • Federal budgets blow trillions of taxpayer dollars on corrupt schemes to reward political supporters disguised as “community organizers” who work feverishly, and illegally, to ensure the re-election of their leftist sugar daddies

The founders of our nation embraced a free-market economy and expected that government would dovetail into a routine that rewards competence. You build a better mousetrap at a lower price, and you are rewarded. I think almost everybody feels that government should run like a business – after all, what else does government do but receive and distribute money?

So how the hell did our government, made up of those we have elected, become so INCOMPETENT?

The only way out of this mess is to do what any business must do to survive. Find employees and managers who are competent, and FIRE all the incompetents.

The USA: Back in the USSR!

We used to laugh at Boris and Natasha, never dreaming that the USA would someday replace the former USSR as the world’s most stupid, backwards, nonsensible socialist nation.

Did you feel sorry for Soviet moms waiting in line at the grocery store only to find empty shelves? That could never happen in the mighty USA, the world’s economic dynamo and home of free markets, right? Lately American shoppers are finding not only empty shelves and six-month lead times for ordinary products, but also Argentina-style price inflation.

The United States once had a vibrant free press that would investigate government corruption in a New York minute, while in the USSR, Pravda was the only news available to Russian citizens, and it was nothing more than propaganda straight from the totalitarian Soviet government. Hmmm, kind of sounds like CNN, MSNBC, and Facebook, right? Hunter who?

The USA, through applied technology and free enterprise, became energy independent and enjoyed the economic boost that abundant and affordable energy (oil and natural gas) can provide. But wait, our new administration is pushing alternative energy without considering the scientific realities: solar and wind can’t come close to the reliability, sustainability and low cost of petroleum energy.

See the source image

Cars from the USSR back in the day were almost useless. Check out our new $50,000 high-tech electric cars that require a 75 amp service for recharging when most homes only are wired for 100 amps, and our electric grid limits us to only three Teslas per block in most cities. Plus the puny 274 mile range of our best hybrids and 10-hour recharge cycle makes long distance travel impossible even if you can afford the cost of the electricity that is ten times the cost per mile of gasoline.

But we still have our freedom, right? At least we don’t have a KGB watching our every move and abusing our rights. No, we have the FBI tapping our phones and emails and instigating “insurgencies” to harass and arrest anyone who opposes our oppressive federal government.

Soviet elections were known world-wide to be manipulated. Now the USA sets the world standard in election fraud, making Vladimir Putin look like a piker.

But boy, the Soviets sure screwed up in Afghanistan, didn’t they?

What a bunch of losers! So glad that couldn’t happen to our vaunted American military – our foreign policy is so superior that we now have a transgendered four-star admiral in leadership. Thanks, Mr. President, for striking fear into the hearts of our adversaries.

Yeah, haha. The old Soviet Union sure was a joke.

The “China-fication” of America

(Color China Photo via AP, File)

Two months into the Democrat takeover of our nation, I am plenty worried. Not about myself and my wife. Not about our children. Our grandchildren? You bet.

As I recover from the shock of a stolen election followed by the unraveling of all the progress made over the last four years, my worldview has begun to clarify. I think I am finally beginning to understand what’s going on.

My son asked me today, “Do you really think we will never again have a fair election?” After some thought, I had to admit that the likelihood of a real election in our near future is pretty remote.

Look at it this way – the Democrats now have control of the three branches of federal government, the news media, the education system, the military, the judiciary including the Supreme Court, the FBI/DOJ/CIA/State Dept., the entire federal bureaucracy, most of corporate America, the internet, social media, pop culture, entertainment and sports. Their control is so complete that they are able to steal an election in front of God and everybody, get away with it and laugh about it, with virtually no opposition. They can presumably do that again, repeatedly. How in the hell could we traditional Christian conservative Americans expect to ever gain back even a tiny portion of control over our government or our destiny without a deadly civil war?

It appears that the United States (and perhaps the civilized world) has come to accept the Chinese model of government, culture, and morality as the new paradigm of success. After all, the communist leaders of China have maneuvered their huge nation from abject poverty and utter failure to world champion status in just a few decades. Yes, their model richly rewards the ruling elites while “genociding” or “disappearing” unwanted citizens. Yes, their air is unbreathable, their genome-bending diseases are unstoppable, and any disagreement with the CCP is brutally, even militarily, extinguished. But the billions of people in the great Chinese middle class have been elevated to a sustainable, somewhat comfortable standard of living. That is, as long as they do as they are told, maintain an acceptable social score under constant surveillance, and accept mediocrity for their entire lives.

We apparently want the same one-party control system that China has. No need for citizens to make decisions of any kind. No need for freedom of expression, religion, or truth. The government knows best, just shut up and live.

There’s only one problem here. China was able to build their system by using and abusing American knowledge, creativity and money. If America wants to emulate China, who will we look to as our “cash cow” to finance our growth and progress? Guatamala? Mexico? Using the wealth they pilfered from us, China has already taken over most of the third-world at breakneck pace.

With Democrats now controlling every aspect of American civilization, and promising (already delivering) the China model to our nation, those of us over age 40 who give a damn about our grandchildren don’t seem to have a lot of options.

But there is one last hope. And it is that individual states will re-affirm their sovereignty, rights and freedoms under the Constitution of our forefathers. If there is no room for the “Make America Great Again” spirit in our nation, I pray to God that there is room for it in our states. If we have hope to restore the USA to greatness, that hope lies in the flyover states, not the metropolitan coastal areas that are willing and happy to sell their pitiful, fearful souls to the federal government for promise of a crust of bread. May God bless the United STATES of America!

Things Have Changed

I haven’t written a blog post for two months. The stolen election and developments since then are so alarming that I have been unable to get my feet on solid ground – emotionally or intellectually.

The most difficult thing to deal with is that truth is no longer available to us. We have known for many years that we can no longer trust the mainstream news and social media. We now know that we can’t trust any political parties, institutions, or agencies. Only a very few elected and hired federal government officials are not corrupt. Corporations, educators, scientists, medical institutions, social organizations, sports/entertainment are all compromised.

My cynical worldview was once driven by the maxim “follow the money.” If things are not quite as they seem, it’s because behind the scenes are malevolent, unscrupulous people who are driven to personal profit at the expense of others.

That was before Americans (and, frankly, average folks all over the world) lost faith in capitalism and free enterprise. Now we know that governments can print as much money as they need to control events and individuals. At least temporarily. Debt is an obsolete concept in the twenty-first century.

The ultimate currency of exchange now is power. Control.

Oh, money is still part of the program. Those who have big money have control. And vice-versa. If the big reset continues on course, those on the outside will still have value, but will over time will become little more than a food source.

Last Sunday our pastor stridently preached the message in Luke 12: 29-31.

29 “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.

The first Sunday after the “riot” on Capitol Hill our pastor was admonishing us for all the time and money we spend worrying about politics and personal wants. I agree with him that we should not live our lives selfishly. If we are saved we can expect our individual needs to be met, now and forever.

But neither is this a time in history when we should acquiesce. Righteousness includes the duty to confront evil. Psalm 82 instructs us to

Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy.  Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked.

There seems to be only one place left to go for the truth. Things have changed.

Tom Balek – Rockin’ On the Right Side

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed
